The 6th CEMASTEA STEM Bootcamp
Building Capacity for 21st-Century Learning, One Bootcamp at a Time

STEAM Interactive Global was proud to co-facilitate the 6th CEMASTEA STEM Bootcamp, continuing our impactful partnership since the second edition. Held at the Centre for Mathematics, Science and Technology Education in Africa (CEMASTEA), the bootcamp brought together enthusiastic learners and educators for a week of hands-on exploration in coding, robotics, electronics, and creative problem-solving. Our sessions focused on practical innovation—empowering participants with tools to build, code, and think critically in alignment with 21st-century skills.
The Robotics For Good Youth Challenge
Youth Innovation in Action: Building Solutions That Matter

The Robotics for Good Youth Challenge is an esteemed global initiative led by the International Telecommunications Union (ITU),
aimed at empowering young minds to leverage technology and robotics to solve real-world
problems. The challenge encourages innovation, creativity, and practical
application of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) skills
among youth, fostering the next generation of problem solvers, leaders, and innovators.
As the appointed national organizer for Kenya, STEAM Interactive Global in partnership with Red Cross Kenya and E4Impact Foundation held an inclusive national competition (final level) where 169 young talents from across the country were engaged. The champions in both categories will present at the Grand Finale during the AI for Good Summit in Geneva, Switzerland in July 8-11, 2025

The Innodems Teachers' Workshop
Transforming Classrooms Through Practical STEM Education

August 2024
In partnership with Innodems, we held a coding workshop in Kisumu at Fablab Winam sensitizing teachers on CBE and building their capacity on ICT integration in teaching. The program which objectively aimed at introducing the educators to Scratch 3 impacted over 50 educators from different Western and Nyanza regions.
During the workshop, educators found Scratch a very useful tool and they called for more workshops of a similar nature over the holidays. The educators would then be master trainers and carry on with the training in their respective schools and regions thus impacting more numbers ahead
The ROF Coding Bootcamp
Partnering for Impact: Igniting a Passion for STEM Across Kenya

Organized by the Riley Orton Foundation, this bootcamp held at their center in Obambo – Kisumu County, aimed at introducing modern programming tools to educators and learners from Akili STEM Arts academy as well as those from neighbouring schools. SIG gladly facilitated the bootcamp introducing the participants to Scratch 3 and Arduino.

The Nairobi Innovation Week 2024
Facilitating Coding & Robotics at Nairobi Innovation Week 2024
In August 2024, SIG was honored to facilitate a hands‑on Arduino prototyping session for youth at Nairobi Innovation Week, held at the University of Nairobi. This pivotal event—the 8th edition of NIW—operated under the theme “Strengthening the Innovation Ecosystem through Government–Industry–Academia linkages for Sustainable Development” (sciencetechnology.uonbi.ac.ke). Our session guided students through practical coding and robotics exercises using Arduino boards, enabling them to develop simple prototypes and spark curiosity through technology. By integrating real‑world hardware and software skills, we helped equip the next generation of innovators with the tools and confidence to bring their ideas to life.

The Kenya Science Engineering Fair
Empowering Young Problem-Solvers Through Research and Prototyping
STEAM Interactive Global proudly supported the Kenya Science and Engineering Fair (KSEF) as part of our mission to promote hands-on learning and innovation among youth. This prestigious platform brought together some of the brightest student minds from across the country, showcasing original research, creative problem-solving, and practical engineering prototypes. Through mentorship and exposure to real-world applications of STEM, we helped participants translate their ideas into impactful innovations aligned with national development goals.

Equitable Coding Resources creation
Creating Equitable Access to Coding Through Locally-Relevant Content

As part of our commitment to building a strong foundation in creative computing, STEAM Interactive Global proudly co-authored a comprehensive Scratch programming book aimed at introducing children and educators to block-based coding. Developed by a dedicated team of SIG educators and technologists, the book offers step-by-step lessons, hands-on activities, and real-world examples tailored to local learning environments.
Aligned with Kenya’s Competency-Based Education (CBE) framework, the book is officially copyrighted by the Kenya Copyright Board (KECOBO) and serves as a trusted tool for educators navigating the coding strands of the national curriculum. It has proven instrumental in simplifying programming concepts for learners while empowering teachers with a practical, curriculum-aligned resource for the classroom.
The Nairobi Innovation Week 2023
Facilitating Teens & Kids Tech Week 2023

In August 2023, during the inaugural InnovateNBO Tech Week, Nairobi County Government hosted a dynamic Teens & Kids Tech Week. The celebration of youth ingenuity featured a kids hackathon with 160 participants, alongside hundreds more in coding and robotics workshops.
SIG was proud to facilitate these interactive sessions that engaged a diverse group of young learners. This event was part of a larger gathering that saw over 1,500 delegates, 50+ start-ups, and 40+ speakers collaborate and connect during the week-long innovation festival (the-star.co.ke).
Our sessions offered platform for curiosity, skill-building, and creative problem-solving—empowering the next generation of innovators to explore digital tools early and confidently.
