About the Challenge
The Robotics for Good Youth Challenge is a global competition organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), a United Nations agency for digital technologies. The challenge empowers young people (ages 10–18) to use robotics and AI to address real-world problems linked to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
In each season, teams of learners design, build, and program autonomous robots to solve challenges inspired by global issues such as health, environment, and agriculture. Beyond the competition, the challenge fosters creativity, collaboration, and innovation among youth worldwide.

Our role as the National organizer
Official National Organizer for Kenya

STEAM Interactive Global has been appointed by the ITU as the official National Organizer for Kenya for two consecutive seasons (2024–25 and 2025–26). As national organizers, we:
Recruit and train schools and teams across the country.
Host the Kenya National Robotics for Good Youth Challenge.
Mentor the winning teams to represent Kenya at the global finals in Geneva, Switzerland.
Build partnerships that make robotics accessible to more young people.
Season 2024–25 Highlights

Kenya’s maiden season took place in March 2025 at the Kenya Red Cross (Dagoretti, Karen Branch).
Dozens of learners showcased innovative robotics projects.
Two teams emerged as national winners. One successfully represented Kenya at the Global Finals in Geneva (July 2025).
This marked Kenya’s official entry onto the global stage of youth robotics for social good.
Season 2025–26: Robotics for Agriculture
The upcoming season focuses on “Robotics for Food Security.”
With global food systems under pressure, learners will explore how robotics can help:
Improve irrigation and reduce water waste.
Support precision farming with selective planting.
Harvest and sort crops efficiently while protecting ecosystems.
This challenge gives young innovators the chance to design robots that directly address food security, sustainability, and climate resilience.
